Meet The Coach
My true purpose to be a coach goes back to childhood when life is supposed to be fun and carefree.
Yet my young eyes saw far more fearful and unpleasant times than I’d like to remember. I was raised by a divorced, then quickly remarried mother dealing with her own struggles which left me seen yet rarely heard. Growing up in a house filled with Domestic Violence, Drugs, and other abuse, I felt trapped, invisible, and very uncertain about my future. Thankfully, I was able to overcome these emotions through my unwavering faith and spiritual beliefs.
Into my adulthood, I learned that the adversity I faced molded me into the woman I am today and every mistake has made me stronger and wiser. The more independent and confident I became, the more I strived to perfect everything I did…..from working, to dressing, socializing, cleaning, all the way down to being the best wife. It was an exhausting task to say the least. The turning point for me was becoming a mother. I now had the chance to give my children the type of upbringing I lacked, and they deserved. For several years, I had the privilege of staying home with my kids and they quickly became the center of my universe. The joy they brought to my heart seemed to lift all the personal burdens I had carried on my shoulders for so long. Motherhood gave me serenity like I had never known and a true sense of purpose. One afternoon in January 2001, I learned how to create a life map during an episode of Oprah and at that moment received my first real taste of life coaching. In completing my own map, I was amazed at how all the words, pictures, and phrases displayed on my board fit together like a puzzle and gave me a realistic snapshot of what mattered most to me at the time. It was an eye-opening project that to my surprise would have a profound impact on my life.
In 2003, my perfect world drastically changed and I found myself going through a divorce while becoming the single parent of two. The circumstances were less than ideal and all of a sudden having everything “just so” no longer mattered. I began taking a closer look at who I was and the woman I wanted to become. As I pressed forward to rebuild my life and give my children a stable and loving home, acknowledging my inner beauty was key. I found myself encouraging others to embrace their God-given talents and start acknowledging their own self-worth. Ironically, I ended up finding my original Life Map from years prior and realized this would be a great exercise to share with my girlfriends. Thus, my yearly “Life Map” Party emerged and my friends were hooked! Viewing my maps from year-to-year gave me a clearer vision of my abilities and essentially guided me down my path of self discovery.
Through a lot of prayer, deep soul searching, and desire to help others, I discovered that Personal Life Coaching is a perfect fit for me! Although my journey has been challenging, every experience has been an opportunity to learn, share and evolve into someone greater than I already am. I believe we all have the potential to grow in beautiful ways. As I help you plant the seeds of your life, you too will begin to blossom and find the true joy and wisdom that lies within you.
Sincerely Yours,
